Construction of sub-station of Palli Bidyut completed: Bright prospect to build industrial area at Bhangura

A Palli Bidyut sub-station of 132/33 KV grid has been constructed at a cost of Tk 60 cr at Bhangura Upazila in Pabna.
Besides, a two-storied administrative building has already been constructed and the setting of two transformers has been completed. Each of which has a capacity of 50/75 MV (Megavolt Ampere). Also the power grid company of Bangladesh (PGCB) has two supply stations with a capacity of 132 KV and 33 KV of rural electricity.
Madhav Chandra Kundu, Executive Engineer of Energy Pack Engineering Ltd. said construction work for the Substation already completed. He hopes it will start from next April. Md. Moazzem Hossain, Project Coordinator said the project would cost around Tk 60 cr funded by KFW of Germany.
Md. Monir Hossain, Assistant General Manager of Pabna Palli Bidyut Samity- 01 at Bhangura Office, said the implementation of the project would add an additional 132/33 KV power to the grid from Baghabari power station. Then the Palli Bidyut Samity will achieve self-sufficiency. He also said that all the customers under the Pabna Palli Bidyut Samity got hundred percent connection recently. If the grid is connected, there will be no load shedding and low-voltage in there areas, he added.
Alhaj Md. Mokbul Hossain MP in Pabna-3 (Bhangura, Chatmohor, Faridpur) said that although it is basically agriculture based area, there is a bright potential to build an industrial area here. In addition, customers in the area can now enjoy uninterrupted power supply. For this, the government took initiative to set up the substation at Bhangura on priority basis.
