The cultivation of zinc enriched BRI-72 variety of paddy is increasing rapidly in Narail district.
It has been learnt that mothers who are carrying need zinc enriched food. For the lack of zinc the baby in the womb might be vulnerable of autism.
In the district, Agriculture Advisory Committee and Harvestplast are proving the seeds of this variety of paddy free of cost.
Recently this non government organization distributed seeds among 780 farmers of Sadar and Lohagara upazila and a total of 450 acres of land was brought under BRI-72 cultivation.

A farmer of Padmabila village under Lohagara upazila said, I cultivated BRI-72 in 30 decimals of land. The plants became strong and I hope a good harvest within a short period.
