Book Fair by Gafargaon Musleh Uddin Foundation Library

A day-long book fair was organized on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the Musleh Uddin Foundation Library in a secluded village of Shankhchura, Gafargaon, Mymensingh, with the slogan of ‘Promise of Mujib Year, Read Books, Home will be the Library’.
Upazila Chairman Ashraf Uddin Badal inaugurated the book fair at the premises of Shankhchura High School on Friday noon. One of the founders of Musleh Uddin Foundation Library, writer and journalist Faizus Salehin, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Tajul Islam, UNO, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaberi Roy, Upazila Vice Chairman Principal Ataur Rahman and others were present on the occasion. Speakers on their discussion focus on reading books to build an enlightened society.
Ahmed Monirus Salehin, the youngest son of the late educationist Musleh Uddin was present as special guest at the book fair. Sadekur Rahman, convener of the book fair celebration committee, said the Musleh Uddin Foundation Library, established in 1994, organized the book fair and reunion of members on its silver jubilee.
Books will be handed over to the readers at a symbolic price in this self-managed book fair. There are more than 6 thousand books in the book fair. Readers can buy favorite books for fifty to eighty percent commission.
