A nine-day Bangladesh Shishu Academy Book Fair began on Friday on its premises on the occasion of 97th birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2016.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the book fair as the chief guest while Chairman of the Agrani Bank Limited Dr Zaid Bakht and author Imdadul Haq Milon, among others, were present as special guests.
Director of Bangladesh Shishu Academy Mosharraf Hossain presided over the inaugural function.
A total of 50 publishing companies are taking part in the fair to showcase different kinds of books particularly books for children in the exhibition.
