A bus passenger who received serious head injuries in a bomb attack on Saturday night succumbed to injuries at Khulna Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
The night coach of Eagle Paribahan, heading for Dhaka,from Jessore came under bomb attack near Nawapara Radio Transmission Centre on the Jessore- Khulna Highway .
Bijon Gain, 40, son of Narayan Gain of Kultia under Dumuria uapzila in Khulna, was injured in the blast and died at 11:am on Sunday, Anisur Rahman, Superintendent of Police, Jessore said.
Police said Bijon Gain received head injuries as he
tried to jump out of the bus soon after the bomb attack. He was first taken to Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. ‘We have sent body for the post mortem examination’, the SP added.
The police arrested Farazi Matiar Rahman, president Abhaynagar upazila unit BNP and also executive member of the party’s central committee and four others in connection with the attack in an overnight operation.
