Body of AL leader found Wife, maternal uncle held

The Detective Branch (DB) of Police recovered the body of missing Awami League (AL) leader from Bhawal National Park in Joydevpur of Gazipur district on Wednesday night.
The law enforcers arrested two persons, including the deceased’s wife, in this connection.
The deceased has been
identified as Altaf Hossain, 45, Joint Secretary of Satgram Union unit of AL. He used to live at Konapara in Jatrabari of the city.
Son of Billal Hossain of Satgram village in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj district, Altaf was the owner of a Travel Agency and a cloth store.  
The arrested person have been identified as Mousumi Akhter, 21, second wife of the deceased and Masum Rahman, 25, maternal uncle of Mousumi, police said.  
Quoting the DB men of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Jaydebpur Police Station’s Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Fazle Rabbi said that Altaf had gone out of the house on December 21 and since then he did not return. His younger brother Jalal Hossain filed a general diary (GD) with Jatrabari Police Station over the missing incident.
Later, police arrested Altaf’s second wife, her mother and her maternal uncle on suspicion of their involvement with the incident. Following their confessional statement, a team of DB police recovered the decomposed body of Altaf from Bhawal National Park on Wednesday night.
The body was sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. They are being interrogated for further information over the murder incident, said the police official.
