Happy’s mother Mukta Begum filed a case with the district Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal on August 13 and Sumaiya’s father Belal Shikder filed another case with the Madaripur Sadar Police Station on August 14, accusing eight persons. The cases were handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the district police. The CID also failed to submit the charge sheet even after passing of about five months.
On the other hand, the complaints expressed their dissatisfaction at the postmortem report of Madaripur Sadar Hospital recently and filed petition to the High Court for permission to do post mortem again in a separate hospital.
