BOA to observe Olympic Day today

The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) will observe the Olympic Day-2016 in the capital and other six divisional headquarters today as part of the IOC’s global programme to popularize the Olympic movement.
This year BOA will observe the day nineteen days before of the schedule date of June 23 due to holly Ramadan.
BOA have taken a day-long program beginning to celebrate the “Olympic Day” in the capital and elsewhere in the county in a benefiting manner.
BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza disclosed the details at a press conference at the BOA conference room Thursday afternoon.
BOA vice presidents Harun-Ur-Rashid and Badal Roy, BOA treasurer Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapal, BOA members Mohammad Ali Din and Imtiaz Khan Babul, EXIM Bank representative and Bangladesh Handball Federation president Nurul Fazal Bulbul, among others were present on the occasion.
The final and master event of the programme, the Olympic Day Run-2016, sponsored by Exim Bank Ltd, First Security Islami Bank, Runner Group, Acme Group, Abdul Monem Limited, Moushumi Industries Limited and Trust Bank Limited.
The Olympic Day run will start from Ramna Tennis Complex at 7 am and terminate at the Bangabandhu National Stadium after passing through Engineers Institute, Foreign Ministry, Press Club, Baitul Mokkaram and National Sports Council.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Sri Biren Sikder MP is expected to attend the rally as chief guest.
Deputy Minister on Youth and Sports Ministry Arif Khan Joy and Chief of Army Stuff and BOA president General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq will present as the special guests.
On the following day (Saturday) of the two-day BOA programme, tree plantation program will be held at BOA premise following by a seminar, organized by BOA sports and environment committee, to be held at the BOA auditorium at 4 pm.
The estimated budget of Taka 18, 61,000.00 has been estimated to organize the day run programme.
Participation in the Olympic Day Run will remain open to all sports-loving people.
