BNP urged to return to democratic politics

Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam called upon BNP to return to democratic politics by seeking apology to countrymen for their misdeeds.
“Come back to democratic politics . . . Seek apology for your misdeeds, we will consider you and people will get rid of the suffocating condition,” he said this on Friday while speaking at a protest rally of Samyabadi Dal at BMA Bhaban premises at Topkhana Road in the city.
Dhaka city unit of Samyabadi Dal organized the rally in protest against the frequent killings of innocent people through arson and petrol bomb attacks in the name of hartal and blockade sponsored by BNP and Jamaat.
The minister said BNP would get an honorable transit to return from the path of confrontation and destruction as they made an announcement to hold a protest programme today throughout the country.
“If you want to accept the opportunity of returning to democratic trend through holding peaceful programmes, it will be allowed to do,” Quamrul said issuing also a warning message that if you try to create unrest further in the name of protest programme, dire consequence would follow.”
Speaking on the occasion, former minister and general secretary of Samayabadi Dal Dilip Barua said the whole nation is united against the destructive activities of BNP and Jamaat.
He called for forging unity to face the evil forces that are
still hatching conspiracies against the sovereignty of
Bangladesh.
Chaired by Babul Biswas, the rally was also addressed, among
others, by Awami League city unit organizing secretary Shahe Alam
Murad, Workers party Dhaka city unit convener Abul Hossain and
Harun Chowdhury of Samyabdi Dal.
