Oil sector employees staged demonstration in Chittagong to press home their demands including pay-scale similar with the government on Wednesday .
Employees and workers of the oil marketing companies under the banner of Bangladesh Oil & Gas Workers Federation staged demonstration in front of the depots of Jamuna Oil, Padma oil, Meghna petroleum, Eastern Refinery, LP gas, LPG Plant and SAOCL on Wednesday.
Federation President Nasiruddin Ahmed Shah, General Secretary Md. Yakub, Executive President Mamtazul Islam, CBA President of ERL Jane Alam, General Secretary Yakub,Jamuna CBA President Md. Selim and General Secretary Sadiqur Rahman, Padma CBA General Secretary Md. Nasiruddin among others spoke on the occasion.
The speakers in the demonstration said oil sector is the heart of the national economy as well as the country and the workers of this sector are being deprieved from legitimate rights. The CBA leaders said the officers of the sector are getting govt benefits with the similarity of the govt scale but the workers, employees are being deprived from that advantages .
The urge the workers friendly Prime Minister resolve the discrepencies between the officers and the workers.
The speakers demanded separate pay scale for the workers, employees of the oil sector otherwise tougher movement will be launnced, a oil sector sources said.
