 Police resisted the procession of BNP and its front organizations in front of city BNP office on Thursday evening.
 Protesting the false charge sheets against 41 central leaders of the party including vice chairman and former Minister Abdullah al Noman , city BNP and its front organizations brought out protest procession from party office but police halted them within the office premises in Jubilee road.
Following the obstructions of police, the leaders instantly hold protest rally in front Nasimon Bhaban(party office) condemning the govt initiatives to eliminate the BNP politics through different means. The protest rally presided by Pahartali Thana BNP convenor Shamsul Alam.
Central labour affairs secretary AM Nazimuddin graced it as chief guest. The speakers in the protest rally said the democratice movement cant be dominated by lodging false suits and police harassment.
They said if vice chairman Abdullah alNoman is harassed in any way either by false case or police harassment, the mass of Chittagong will not spare the ruling party and the anti-govt movement will be intensified further in Chittagong.
The speakers further said following the declaration of BNP movement in coming days, govt has intensified the oppression and harassment over the BNP leaders and workers than before.
Among others, BNP leader MA Sabur, Advocaste Abdus Sattar, sramik leader Nurullah Bahar, SK Khoda Totan, Jubodal President Kazi Belauddin, chatradal leder Ahmedul Alam chowdhury spoke on the occasion.
