Police arrested a local BNP leader, who attacked police during a BNP-enforced hartal, with a firearms from Patiya Upazila of the district on Thursday .
The arrested was identified as Lutfur Rahman Chowdhury alias Lutu, 37, son of Late Moulana Hasan, hailed from Molla Para area Ziri village of Patiya Upazila.
Police said Lutfur was arrested with a Light Gun (LG) from Molla Para area in connection with three cases filed against him for attacking on-duty police in Shantirhat area under Patiya Upazila during a hartal. “He is also involved in different criminal activities, including robbery and theft”, police added.
