The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday (Sunday) submitted the charge-sheet of a graft case against BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee to a Dhaka court lodged for concealing information about his wealth.
ACC Deputy Director Mahbubul Alam and also the Investigating Officer of the case, submitted the charge-sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate(CMM) Court of Dhaka. Anee has been accused of amassing wealth worth Tk 1,22,42,000.00, that has not been mentioned in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC.
On June 18, the anti-graft body ACC gave approval for submission of the charge-sheet against Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee. Earlier, on March 24, last year, the ACC asked Anee to submit his wealth statement to it. On April 24, last year, he submitted statement mentioning his wealth amounting to Tk 36.2 million to the commission, when he concealed information of his wealth amounting to Tk 13,13,000.
On October 9, 2014, the anti-graft body filed a case with Ramna Police Station against Anee for allegedly amassing illegal wealth.
