Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif said BNP does not believe in people’s power so that the party showed ecstasy after the parliament lost its power to dismiss Supreme Court judges through the court verdict on the 16th constitutional amendment.
“Showing ecstasy over the court verdict on 16th constitutional amendment, BNP proved it never believes in people’s power,” he said this on Saturday while speaking at a discussion at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University (DU).
DU Bangabandhu Hall unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) organized the discussion marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.
Hanif said the defeated forces of Liberation War are always hatching conspiracy against the country and they are out to distort the history of the country’s history.
“The anti-liberation forces are plotting to halt the country’s development,” he said urging the leaders and activists of BCL to remain alert to resist the evil forces.
Bangabandhu Hall Provost and Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) Department Chairman Professor Mofizur Rahman, BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag, DU unit president of BCL Abid Al Hasan and general secretary Motahar Hossain Prince addressed the discussion, among others.
Bangabandhu Hall unit president of BCL Barikul Islam Badhan presided over the programme.
