The novel is the token of pure and simple love between a man and a woman, both of whom Allah created from a single soul. Novelist Dr Anis expresses his feelings in the following way:Allah has sent mankind on this earth with compassion and love in heart. Man and woman search for each other’s mate with that compassion. Someone becomes successful and someone does not. All compassions do not take the form of love and all loves are not unified in marriage. Yet man and woman continue to hunt love and that is why loves comes back again and again. The three main characters of the story are Saikot, Banya and Basundhara. The first two are married and Allah blessed each of them with a child. The difference is that Saikot’s wife left this world when his son Ishan was two months old. On the other hand, Banya has an eight years old son. She is a successful businessman, a courageous and honest woman as well.Banya is firm in her aim and that is why she surged ahead fearlessly. Even the political extortionists could not stop her.Contrarily Basundhara is still bachelor. Never had she thought of a conjugal life, but suddenly there came a change in her when she introduced herself with Saikot in a shopping mall of the city and began to go to the residence of him and took care of Ishan. Obsession grew in her when Ishan called her ‘mother.’Saikot and Banya are facebook friends, which gradually began to move in a different direction. But it was not possible because Banya has her husband though their conjugal life was not blissful.Saikot and Banya saw each other in Cox’s Bazar though they had been there separately. After return, Saikot took his son in his lap, pressed him against his chest and entered his bed room. But he was extremely surprised. He saw Basundhara in standing position, reclining against the window. Saikot released his son and, said: You (are here)! She said, turning her face in other direction: I could not go.Why didn’t you go? (Asked Saikot). For you only (said Basundhara). For me (said Saikot in extremely surprise voice)?Yes (said Basundhara). Why? (Enquired Saikot)I know not, (said Basundhara.)For how many days?As long as I shall take breathe.About the novel, I am very much impressed. Every reader will be too. He/she will read the book at a stretch. n
