The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized huge quantities of smuggled goods for Tk. 84,02,66,000 only near the borders and other areas in the month of April. The seized items are Yaba, alcohal, gold, clothes, vehicles, arms, hemps and tea leaf.
According to BGB, the seized products are 9,99,732 pieces of Yaba, 7,012 bottles of foreign alcohal, 59 litres of home made alcohal, 13,346 cans of bear, 39,982 bottles of Phensidle, 1,945 kg of hemp, 1 kg 334 grams of heroin, 17,990 peaces of
anerga/senegra tablets, 13,780 pieces of addicted injection and 25,72,593 pieces of other tablet.
Besides they seized, 39 kg and 139 grams of gold, 10, 336 pieces of sharee, 3, 853 pieces of threepiece/shirt piece, 6,674 meters of clothes, 1,555 pieces of ready made cloth, 1, 037 pieces of vehicle parts, 2 pick up, 1 truck, 15 auto-rickshaw, 47 bikes, 18,955 cubic feet of wood, 7,594 kg tea leaf.
They seized six pistols, 11 rifles, 27 rounds of bullet and six magazine also.
BGB confiscated smuggling and narcotics for Tk 392 crore 56 lakh 37 thousand in the month of January to April.
They also arrested 120 Bangladeshis suspecties their involvement in the smuggling and another 120 for attempt to cross the border illegaly while 25 Indian for illegal border crossing.
