As part of government pledge to modernize the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), four armed ultramodern speedy interceptor water vessels was added to the border watchdog with a capacity of identifying illegal water vessels even from the distance of 50 kilometers away from its position.
“With the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina…the interceptor watercrafts have been provided to the BGB,” said a BGB press release on Wednesday. These vessels have a capacity of 33 soldiers on board, a 40feet long three engine powered silver craft 40 model reinforced polymer water vessel can move with a speed of 55 nautical miles or 101 kilometers in an hour. Even the water craft has a facility to carry on two critical patients to nearest medical centre.
