BFUJ, DUJ demand dropping of Shawkat’s name from ‘false case’

UNB, Dhaka :Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) factions on Saturday urged the government to drop the name of BFUJ President Shawkat Mahmud from the ‘false case’ in which he was implicated. The pro-BNP journalist association leaders also said holding of a constructive dialogue for a credible polls is the only solution to overcome the current crisis.The journalist leaders made the demand at a press conference where BFUJ secretary general MA Aziz read out a written statement.During the press conference the leaders said the government has a created a bad example by implicating Shawkat Mahmud in the case and termed the incident as an unprecedented one.The journalist leader has been implicated in four cases so far. Three of the cases were filed with Jatrabari Thana while other with Paltan Thana.
