More 275 colleges across the country will be nationalised soon, the Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said it in the Parliament on Wednesday.
“The government is going to nationalise 275 non-government colleges. The Finance Division has already given consent over the matter. The next steps will be taken soon accordingly,” the Education Minister said it while replying to a question
from the ruling party lawmaker Md. Shamsul Haque Tuku (Pabna-1).
The Education Minister said that the government has a plan to nationalise one college in every upazilas where there is no government college. He said that, the Education Ministry continues the process to implement the plan.
In reply to a question from Awami League MP M Abdul Latif (Chittagong-11), the Education Minister said, his Ministry has taken steps for evaluating answer-sheets of the public examinations under a uniform system with a view to reduce the impacts of differences in examiners’ attitudes.
“We are taking the steps so that no examinee would be deprived of getting due marks because of differences in examiners’ attitude,” he said.
The Minister also said that ‘model answer’ was prepared articulating a set of instructions over how to evaluate the answer-sheets.
The Minister also have stated that the education boards trained their respective head examiners to train others as master trainers in this regard.
