BFF to decide to arrange BPL football soon

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will take decision to arrange the second phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football after knowing the stand of Bangladesh Government about lockdown and coronavirus-situation of the country.
Regarding the upcoming BPL football matches, members of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and the officials of the participating clubs of BPL football met in a virtual meeting on Sunday.
After the meeting Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Chairman of the Profession Football League Committee Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, said, ” We have known the stand and decision of the participating clubs of the BPL football through the virtual meeting. We are waiting for the decision of Bangladesh Government about lockdown and coronavirus-situation of the country. After knowing the stand of Bangladesh Government we shall arrange the rest of the matches of BPL football.”
It may be mentioned that the first phase of BPL were concluded recently. After that all the matches of BPL were stopped. But the participating clubs have to bear a lot of cost.
The ongoing lockdown will come to an end on April 20. If Bangladesh Government has decided to increase lockdown, it will be known within two days.
BFF has decided to sit for an emergency meeting of Professional Football League Committee on April 21.
Murshedy said, ” The AFC Cup play-off matches and FIFA World Cup qualifiers matches will be held soon. The participating clubs of BPL football are interested to plaqy during the AFC Cup play-off matches. If the Government decides to withdraw lockdown, BFF is interested to arrange three or four round matches of BPL football. BFF will discuss with Sports Ministry and Health Ministry to arrange the rest of the matches of the BPL.”
Bashundhara Kings will play in the final round of the AFC Cup in Maldives on May 14 to May 20. Besides, if Dhaka Abahani Limited can win the play-off matches, the Dhanmondi-based out-fit will also take part in the final round of the AFC Cup.
After the first phase of the BPL football, Bashundhara Kings led the points table securing 34 points from 12 matches.
