UNB, Feni :
BNP acting secretary general Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said the country’s existence will be at stake if the current ‘illegal, unethical and subservient government’ stays in office for a longer period.
“This is a subservient government which has now become like a slave.
It can’t protest when Bangladeshi people are killed along the border. It even couldn’t raise its strong voice when a BGB member was killed by Myanmar Border Guard Police,” he said.
Fakhrul further said, “If we allow this illegal, unethical and subservient government to remain in office for a longer time, the country’s existence will be obliterated.”
He came up with the remarks while addressing a rally at Chagalnaiya College Road.
Calling the current parliament a house of clowns, Fakhrul said 154 of its members were elected unopposed while 146 others elected only with 5 percent votes.
He alleged that the government keeps on holding office using the state machinery and is resorting to killings, forced disappearance and other repressive acts.
Criticising the government for what he said unabated killings and forced disappearances, Fakhrul said the government has turned the entire country into a death valley.
He also renewed his party’s demand for disbanding Rab, saying the members of the elite force are claiming lives instead of ensuring people’s security.
