BDR mutiny Deposition of witnesses adjourned

The Senior Special Tribunal of Dhaka yesterday (Wednesday) adjourned recording the deposition of the witnesses in the case filed in connection with February 25-26, 2009 BDR mutiny under the Explosive Substances Act till November 10.
As Judge Md Jahurul Haque of the court was not prepared to record the depositions of the witnesses, he deferred the process of the case. Earlier, the court recorded the depositions of 26 witnesses in the case.
However, Nabojoyti Khisha, the then
Officer-in-Charge of Lalbagh Police Station appeared in the court to testify in the case.
On November 5, last year a special court awarded death sentence to 152 Jawans and non-commissioned officers, including Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) Touhidur Alam, in the murder case filed in connection with Peelkhana BDR mutiny massacre of 2009.
Seventy-four people, including 57 senior army officers, were killed in the February 25-26 BDR mutiny in 2009.
