Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team will face India Under-19 Cricket team in their semi-final at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today. Earlier, the match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka was called of due to interruption of coronavirus. The officials of that match have tested positive for Covid-19.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka earned same points in their Group-B matches. But by virtue of better run rate Bangladesh emerged the Group-B champions and Sri Lanka became Group-B runners-up.
On the other hand, Pakistan became Group-A champions and India became Group-A runners-up.
India will take on Sri Lanka in the day’s other semi-final at Dubai in the UAE.
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released a press release that before the two semi-finals, all the cricketers of the participating teams would undergo for Covid-19 test. Before getting the results for coronavirus test, the cricketers would take isolation. India clinched the U-19 Asia Cup for four times. They won in 2000, 2008, 2012 and in 2018.
