Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in the second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. The match begins at 10.00am. State-owned television channel BTV, private satellite channel GTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live everyday at the venue.
Captain of Bangladesh Test team Mominul Haque said, “The batters of the Indian sub-continent played well in the spin-favoured pitch. So, I think it will be better for us to play in the flat wicket against Pakistan.”
He said, ” As a professional cricketer I shall not give any lame excuse. I think if we bound to play in paddy field, we shall do that. It will be better for us to be professional and play for the win.”
He also said, ” We are obviously professional. We are disciplined and we try to perform well against our opponents. We take part in the practice sessions as per schedule. But sometimes we failed after showing professional approach.”
Pacer of Pakistan Shaheen Shah Afridi said, ” I don’t thing that wickets of Bangladesh are slow and spin-favoured. If a pacer gives pressure and maintains length and line, he will get advantage from the slow wickets. Hasan Ali and I have got success using our pace and swing. If any bowler bowls aggressively and keeps his pace, line and length, he will get success.”
He said, ” Hasan Ali and I enjoy to bowl against our opponents as a duo. This year Hasan Ali captured 39 wickets, while I claimed 44 wickets. We shall try to perform well in the second Test.”
