DU Correspondent :
Bangladesh Chhatra Federation (BCF) and Progressive Student Allaince (PSA) on Monday protested the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL)’s atrocities at Rajshahi University (RU) on Sunday in which over 100 students and several journalists were injured.
They demanded arrest of the guilty and immediate punishment to them.
The BCF, a left leaning student organisation, brought out a procession on the Dhaka University (DU) campus which started from in front of the Modhu’s Canteen and ended at the
main gate of Central Library after parading different roads. Later, they held a rally there.
BCF President Probir Shaha presided over the rally while its General Secretary Saikat Mollik moderated it.
The leaders of the organisation alleged that the BCL, student wing of ruling Awami League, are busy to occupy the universities. They have already established their supremacy on the universities campus by their muscle power and the government backing.
They condemned the Sunday’s attack on the RU students who were demanding cancellation of the extra fees.
They said, a student organisation cannot do such act. BCL is not a student friendly organization now, they said.
