3-day Cricket: BCB XI lead by 11 runs against Zimbabwe

BCB XI lead by 11 runs with four wickets in hand in the 1st innings against Zimbabwe on the second day of their three-day preparation match at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Tuesday.
Replying to Zimbabwe’s 241 runs in the first innings, BCB XI resumed the innings on Tuesday with overnight 11 for 1 in 5 overs and scored 252 for 6 in 85 overs at stumps on the second day.
Opener Shamsur Rahman scored team highest 69 runs off 158 balls with nine fours and a six before caught by Sikandar Raza off a Natsai M’shangwe delivery.
In 2nd wicket stand, Shamsur Rahman partnering with Rony Talukder contributed 93 runs in 27.5 overs to carry the team total to 97 for 2 in 29.2 overs.
Rony Talukder scored 46 runs off 81 balls with six fours before he fell victim of lbw by Tafadzwa Kamungozi.
Number five Shuvagata Hom remained unbeaten scoring second highest 53 runs off 124 balls with seven fours while Taibur Rahman added unbeaten 15 runs off 30 balls with two fours.
Marshall Ayub scored 31 runs off 82 balls with a four and a six and Asif Ahmed added 23 runs off 22 balls with four fours while skipper Naeem Islam was out scoring 2 runs.
Natsai M’shangwe grabbed four wickets for 98 runs in 28 overs while Elton Chigumbura and Tafadzwa Kamungozi took one wicket each for 25 and 34 runs respectively.
