Bangladesh Bank on Sunday asked all Financial Institutions (FIs) to spend a portion of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) fund among the former enclave dwellers with a view to improving their livelihood.
Sustainable Finance Department General Manager Monoj Kumar Biswas issued a circular in this regard to all the chiefs of banks and non-bank financial institutions. The enclave dwellers were deprived of various social improvement initiatives
since long. So, it is very important to help them for their community development, said the circular.
The BB asked the FIs to show their spending fund in a social projects or community investment account to the central bank.
