Truck crushes tea-stall killing one
 A truck of Anchor Cement Company crushed a roadside tea-stall killing one at the spot and injuring two others at Rupatali area of the city on Thursday morning. he dead victim was identified as tea-stall owner Abdul Kader, 35, son of Abu Hanif from Bhola. The critically injured two admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital were Mizanur Rahman, 31, and Biplob, 29, labours of the cement company. Sub Inspector Abu Taher of Kotwali police station visiting the spot quoting witnesses said the accident happened when helper of the truck started the vehicle at about 7:00 AM Thursday in Gas Turbine area of Rupatali near the cement factory. Dead body of the victim sent to SBMCH for autopsy and the injured admitted there, he added.Golam Rouf Khan, deputy commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police, said police seized the truck, but driver and helper of the vehicle managed to flee.
Young girl electrocuted
A young girl died after electrocuted at Sher- e- Bangla Road in Rupatali area of the city on Wednesday morning. The victim was identified as Chhobi Begum, 22, daughter of Babul Haoladar in the area. Emergency department of Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital quoting family sources said Chhobi was electrocuted during boiling water on electric heater at vacant home at about 10:00 am Wednesday. Family members returning home finding unconscious brought her to SBMCH and attending physician Dr. Riazuddin Ahmed declared her as dead at about 11:00 am, hospital sources told.
Two alleged thieves beaten to death
Two alleged thieves beaten to death in Char Sharikal under Sharikal union of Gournadi upazila in Barisal district on early Wednesday. The lynched two victims were identified as Mohammad Modasser and Md. Rafik from Alimabad village under Muladi upazila of the district. Assistant Sub Inspector Sarwar Hossain, in charge of Sharikal police post under Gournadi police station, said a gang of thieves entered in the house of Kamrul Islam, a retired BDR personal, at about 2:30 am Wednesday.

Two BCL cadres were injured after rival factions clashed at Barisal University campus at Karnakathi on eastern bank of Kirtankhola River over hoisting banner welcoming admission seekers on Saturday morning.
