It will also provide skill development training to 5.20 lakh workers in different trades during the period to ensure a dignified profession for them abroad, says the finance minister.
Placing the proposed national budget for FY 23 in Parliament on Thursday, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said it is necessary to ensure the quality of their training and skill. All the training programmes of technical training institutes and institutes of marine technology will be conducted under the National, Technical, and Vocational Qualification Framework (NTVQF) from the current fiscal year. In addition, to bring discipline to the immigration system three new online systems titled- Employee Connectivity Reporting System, Online Grievance Management System, and Recruiting Agencies Information Management system (RAIMS) have been introduced. The government has taken up a range of initiatives for the welfare of expatriate workers. The discipline in the immigration system has been ensured by supervising the activities of the recruiting agencies on a regular basis.
Amid the 4th industrial revolution, when machines are being replaced by human labour, Bangladesh needs an advanced and futuristic plan regarding overseas employment. The syllabus and practical learning should comply with the market needs and for that, it should be created according to market needs. Labour attache and diplomats must ensure workplace security in the Middle East nations, where our migrants are being oppressed by employers. Our economy is highly dependent on the remittance of the migrants and the government should work on it pre-during-post migration. Searching for new markets, opportunities, and alternatives should always be the ministry’s task.
