Bangladeshi cricketers took part at the practice session at the Lincoln Ground in New Zealand on Thursday. The cricketers did light jogging, stretching and fielding practice there. They also did catch practice there. Later, the bowlers and batsmen took part at the practice session in the net.
The players splitting into small groups did batting and the bowlers bowled to correct their line and length.
Members of Bangladesh Cricket team have to follow the restriction of New Zealand government. The cricketers passed their ninth day at Christchurch in New Zealand. The New Zealand government imposed restriction due to coronavirus pandemic. After 14 days, the cricketers of Bangladesh will get chance to pass their normal life and usual practice session.
Bangladesh Cricket team arrived at Christchurch on February 24. After that they were not allowed to leave their room for three days. They passed their time in the hotel room by doing light physical exercise, watching movies and chatting with their friend and family members. In the fourth day they went out for a walk and the duration of their walking was 40 minutes. Later, Members of Bangladesh Cricket team were allowed to do physical exercise at the gymnasium in the hotel. The players underwent Covid-19 test for thrice. The players have tested negative for all the coronavirus test. Yesterday (Thursday) they became negative for coronavirus test. Thus, the players were allowed to take part in their practice sessions.
After the practice session, promising pacer Mohammad Saifuddin said, ” Earlier, we could not achieve any positive news from New Zealand.”
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh played nine Test matches, 13 ODI matches, four T20I matches against the Kiwis in New Zealand. Bangladesh failed to earn any win against their opponents.
Saifuddin said, ” We shall try to earn positive results from this tour. We have a target. Now-a-days Bangladesh are good side in ODI cricket. If we can give our best we shall achieve a positive result for us.”
He said, ” We worked very much about our fielding today. The condition of New Zealand is different. The weather is windy here. We did catch practice here and also took part in batting and bowling session in the net for a short time.”
The pacer said, ” We worked about our fitness. Earlier, we couldn’t work for our fitness in the previous seven days. We did running and stretching, according to the direction of our trainers.”
