The 98th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in different districts in a befitting manner yesterday . Bangladesh Awami League , its front organisations and socio-cultural organisations chalked out various programmes marking the Day. Our correspondents and agencies report:
Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj says : The 98th birth anniversary of father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in Kishoreganj Sadar and 13 upaziles of the district with due respect yesterday.
Before a discussion, a colourfull rally was brought out in the town marking the day. Kishoreganj District Administration, ruling Awami League, JSD, Gonotontree Patry and many socio-cultural organisation chalked out elaborate programmes to marking the Day. A discussion meeting was arranged by District Administration at Art Council Hall in the morning.
Dilara Begum Asma MP attended as Chief Guest while Deputy Commissioner Md Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury in the chair.
It was addressed among others by District Awami League President Adv Kamrul Ahsan Shajahan, General Secretary Adv M.A. Afzol, Zila Parished CEO Shibir Bichitra Barua, ADC (General & DS) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil, ADC (Education & ICT) Golam Md. Bhuiyan, Additional Police Super Nazmul Islam, Poura Mayor Md. Pervaz Mia, PP Adv Shah Azizul Hoque, Sadar UNO Abdullah Al Masud, Gonotantree Party Presidium Member Adv Dolob Bhowmik, former Freedom Fighter Unit Commander Md. Asadullah and Women leader Bilkis Begum.
Bangladesh Awami League arranged a discussion meeting held at its district offie with District Committee President Adv Kamrul Ahasan Shajahan. Shishu Academy arranged a cultural competition among the children’s at its office premise. A cultural function was held at local Art Council.
Gouripur (Mymensingh) Correspondent reports: The 99th birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day was observed amid huge enthusiasm with fresh vow to build Sonar Bangla in Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh on Saturday.
Apart from the ruling Awami League (AL) Gouripur upazila unit and its front and associated bodies, different political, socio-cultural and educational organisations chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the Day, which is also the Nation Children Day, with due respect . A children’s rally was brought out from the Upazila Parishad that ended at the same place. Students of different institutions like Gouripur Pilot Girls High School, Gouripur R.K.Govt. High School, Nurul Amin Khan High School, Agradut Niketon Adarsha High School, Gouripur Govt. Technical School and College, Govt Textile Vocational Institute, Islamabad Senior Madrasha joined the rally. This rally was attended by freedom fighter Alhaj Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP while UNO Margina Akter, Upazila Vice chairman Md.Sana ul Haque and Upazila Vice chairman Rabeya Islam Doly were present.
 Gafargaon (Mymensingh) Corresapondent reports : On the occasion of 98th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman , a two- day long children festival has been arranged by Gafargaon Press Club and Surjosarothi Khelagor. at Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Friday.

UNO Dr.Shamim Rahman inaugurated the festival at the premises of Zila Parishad .
 OC Md.Abdul Ahad of Gafargaon Thana was special guest. Shafiqul Kadir presided over the festival. Convener of arrangement committee and Pannel Mayor Md. Shahjahan Saju, , Ataur Rahman Mintu, member of central Khelagor committee delivered welcome speech. Later, handwriting , art competition on Bangabandhu, essay writing, general knowledge competition have been arranged.  
Dupchanchia (Bogra) Correspondent reports: People from all walks of life celebrated the 99th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with a befitting manner in Dupchanchia upazila of Bogra district yesterday .
The leaders of Bangladesh Awami League Dupchanchia Upazila Shakha led by president of the party Mizanur Rahman Khan Selim placed wreaths at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu on Saturday morning and joined a milad and doa mahfil.
 Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies have chalked out a different programmes in observance of the day. The programmes include hoisting of national and party flags atop of their offices and placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Apart from national programmes, children’s gatherings, public rallies, discussions and cultural functions was arranged at Amunir Shathy auditorium presided over Upazila Nirbahi officer Shahed Parvez.
Charghat(Rajshahi) Correspondent says: The 98th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2018 was observed in Rajshahi yesterday .
Special prayers were offered seeking divine blessings for Bangabandhu, four national leaders and martyrs of the War of Liberation and peace and progress for the nation at the mosques, temples, pagodas, churches and other places of worships.
Rajshahi DC office, City Awami League and other associate organisations chalked out various programmes on the day . DC SM Abdul Kader, SP Shohidulla Chowdhory and City Awami League President AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Secretary Dablu Srkar and different area political leader were present.
The programmes include placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, children’s gatherings, rallies, drawing, handwriting competitions, discussions, screening of documentary films, cultural functions and prize distributed among the winners.
 BSS from Faridpur adds: The 98th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed here yesterday in a befitting manner as elsewhere across the country.
Faridpur District Administration and local Shishu Academy jointly organised day’s programme.
As part of the programme, a grand rally of hundreds of children, officials and people from all walks of life was brought out in the town this morning from deputy commissioner’s (DC) office.
The rally paraded different streets before terminating on Govt. Rajendra College premises through placing wreaths on the mural of Bangabandhu.
The district administration, police department, different government and nongovernment organizations, Awami League and its front organizations and various socio-cultural groups placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the same venue.
BSS from Rangpur says : People of Rangpur celebrated the 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2018 in a befitting manner yesterday.
The district administration, Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies, Rangpur City Corporation, District Information Office, Shishu Academy, Shilpakala Academy, Islamic Foundation, Muktijoddha Sangshad, educational institutions and other organisations observed the Day through various programmes .
The programmes include placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cake cutting ceremonies, children’s gatherings and rallies, processions of unprivileged children, drawing, handwriting, essay and ready speech competitions, screening of documentary films on Bangabandhu, discussions and cultural functions.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hasan Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General of Rangpur Range Khondker Golam Faruk, Zila Parisahd Administrator Advocate Chhafia Khanom, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Wahiduzzaman, Police Super Mizanur Rahman, District Muktijoddha Commander Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and city AL President Shafiur Rahman Shafi placed the wreaths there.
Later, leaders of AL, its associate bodies, government officials, heads of different government departments and educational institutions, NGO executives, leaders of different socio-cultural, professional and political organisations placed there wreaths.
Local newspapers published special supplementary issues marking the day while special munajats will be offered at the religious institutions. Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hassan Ahmed will attend the main discussion to be organised by the district administration at Town Hall auditorium as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib in the chair.
Freedom fighters, high officials, leaders of AL and its associate bodies, socio-cultural and political activists, artists, professionals, children, students, academicians, researchers, heads of educational institutions and common people were present .
