B M College students protest illegal occupation of class rooms

Agitated students of Barisal Government Brojo Mohun College on Thursday noon ransacked rooms, signboards and setting fire protesting illegal occupation of class rooms by two voluntary organisations.
Witnesses said two organisations named as Debating Club and Red Crescent Club opened their offices occupying two class rooms of chemistry-department of the college.
This created tensions among the students as there was acute crisis of class cum laboratory rooms in the department and college.
On Thursday noon agitated students of the chemistry-department cordoning the departmental teacher’s room, ransacked two rooms of the occupants, their furniture and set-fire in fronts of the department.
Prof. Imanul Hakim, Principal of the College, said hearing the incident rushed to the spot and controlled the situation assuring the students about returning their class rooms.
