Stocks break 4-day gaining streak

Stock markets closed on Wednesday down breaking a rally that continued at both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges in the past four sessions.
The markets were upbeat in the last four days, taking the broader index at the prime bourse up at the close of every trading session since January 18.
The broader index of DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the session 6.03 points down at 6,200.69. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 2.13 points down at 1,431.03. But the blue-chip DS30 closed with 1.51 points up at 2,303.95.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 424.32 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 562.71 crore and the daily trade also fell to 8.94 crore shares from 10.96 crore shares of the previous session.
