An auto rickshaw driver Lukman Hossain (35) was murdered in Lalpur upazila under Natore district on Thursday.
His friend Babu (37) was arrested and bloody lungi of Lukman Hossain was recovered by police.
Lukman Hossain was a son of late Abdur Rahman of the village Nando Roypur under Lalpur upazila and Babu is a son of late Ayen Uddin of the same village.
On Eid Day ( Thursday) night at 10 pm, he was going from his own house to his sister Khadiza’s house. It was about 1000 feet distance from his house. But he did not reach there or return at home at night.
On next day, Friday, police recovered his dead body from a jute-field of Nando Roypur on an information and sent the dead body to Natore hospital morgue for autopsy. On the day, police also arrested Lukman’s friend and his neighbor Babu for asking about this murder. Both Lukman Hossain and Babu were singing regional song `Motherer Gain’ and members of the team of Motherer Gain’. Killed Lukman’s wife Sazeda Khatun said, there was a quarrel between two friends Lukman Hossain and Babu on love with a girl. It is the main cause of the murder.
Not only this, she said that Babu tried to kill her husband about 9 months ago. But his target was failed. She also added that before a week at Naudara bazzar, hot talks were exchanged between them about the matter of love of a girl.
On Saturday morning, local people saw blood at the wall of the gate of the house of Babu and sent an information to the police. On the information, police checked the house and recovered the bloody lungi of Lukman Hossain and other elements with blood from the bed room of killer Babu. Hundreds of people then gathered in front of Babu’s house for looking this matter. Rafikul Islam brother of Lukman Hossain filed a case in this connection.
