Asma Kibria, wife of slain former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria, passed away at a city hospital on Monday morning. She was 78. Asma Kibria, who had been suffering from cancer, breathed her last at United Hospital in Gulshan area of the city around 9am, said family sources. Talking to reporters at the Secretariat, State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim, who is also the deceased’s niece, expressed her shock at the death and prayed for the departed soul. In a condolence message, President Abdul Hamid expressed deep shock at the death of Asma Kibria and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members. – Dhaka, Nov 9 (UNB)
