The trophy of second edition of Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football 2017 was unveiled on Monday through a glittering ceremony at the city’s local hotel.
The eight clubs identities were also highlighted through a fashion show. Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal MP formally unveiled the trophy of the tournament as chief guest.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr. Biren Sikder MP was present as special guest.
Zahid Ahasan Russel MP, chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee’s chairman on Youth and Sports and tournament organising committee’s vice chairman, Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi M Salahuddin and Square Group chairman Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, were among others, also present on the occasion.
Chittagong Abahani Limited’s chairman and organizing committee’s vice chairman MA Latif MP presided over the trophy unveiling ceremony.
The second edition of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup is scheduled to be held from February 18 to March 2 at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
Approved by FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the tournament named after Bangabandhu’s eldest son and eminent sports organizer Sheikh Kamal will be organized by the BFF in association with Chittagong Abahani Ltd.
In this edition of the tournament, eight club teams will participate to fight for the prestigious trophy including five foreign teams.
The participating teams are Shaheen Asmayee FC (Afghanistan), Manang Marshyangdi Club (Nepal), TC Sports Club (Maldives), Pocheon Citizen Football Club (South Korea), FC Alga Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and hosts Chittagong Abahani Limited.
