‘Arms trader’ held with 2 pistols in Jessore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged arms trader along with two pistols, two magazines and five rounds of bullets from Terghor in Benapole border area on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Mukul, 42, son of Mantaj Uddin, a resident of Doulotpur village of the area.
Lt Col Arifur Rahman, commander of Khulna BGB battalion 21, said tipped off, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Mukul while he was entering the country from Indian around 11.30pm.
Later, BGB members also recovered two pistols, two magazines and five rounds of bullets after searching his body.
The arrestee was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection.
