BSS, Dhaka :
The prosecution in the trial of Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer Abdus Subhan will start placing their arguments against him from November 2.
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Wednesday set the date as the defence declined to present any of their witnesses before the court.
Wednesday was set for recording the depositions of the defence witnesses (DWs) in the trial of Subhan, however, advocate Mizanul Islam, counsel for the accused, mentioned that they would not place any witnesses before the court.
The ICT-2 earlier had allowed three DWs to vouch in support of the accused before the tribunal and on the last date of the trial, the defence counsel said they would produce two DWs.
A total of 31 prosecution witnesses testified against Subhan, narrating the heinous crimes committed by the Jamaat leader during the War of Liberation.
The 78-year-old Jamaat leader was indicted on December 31, 2013, on 9 counts of crimes against humanity by the ICT-1. On March 27, 2014, the ICT-1 transferred the case to ICT-2 acting suo moto.
