A teenager was allegedly beaten to death over a trifling/allegation of stealing a memory card of mobile phone at Nayahat Bazar area in Faridganj upazila of the district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Foysal Hossain, 16, son of Muslim Gazi of Chirka Chandpur village of the upazila. The businessmen of Nayahat Bazar told UNB correspondent that Rasel Hossain, a neighbour of Foysalm raised an allegation against him of stealing a memory card.
On Tuesday evening they locked into an altercation over the allegation and on a stage Rasel gave Foysal a good beat and leaving him unconscious condition.
Later locals rescued Foysal and sent to Faridganj Upazila health complex where doctor declare him death around 9pm.
Md Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station said on information police personnel were sent to the spot and they are trying to arrest the accused.
