Hardly two weeks after Rajshahi University (RU) professor AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee was brutally murdered within 50 metres of his residence, another RU teacher received death threat over mobile phone on Sunday.
Md Mahbub Alam Prodip, assistant professor of the department of Public Administration of the university, received the death threat around 3:00pm.
Seeking security, he has filed a general diary with the town’s Motihar Thana in this regard.Mahbub Alam Prodip said, “I got a phone call from this unknown number +8177479 where it said, ‘Your life is finished, you have done too much, just wait’. He disconnected the call when I asked about his address.”
RU Proctor Mujibul Haque Azad Khan said, “I have told the teacher to file a general diary with the concerned thana in this connection.”
Police have been asked to take legal action in this case, the proctor added.
Motihar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter.
