Staff Reporter :A seven storied residential building tilted at Lichubagan area under Jatrabari thana in the capital city of Dhaka in the morning. The building leaned against an adjacent building. However, there has been no report of casualty according to official statement.Mostafa Mohsin, Senior Station Officer of Postogola Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the sixth and the seventh floors of the building had leaned against an adjacent building. The fire fighters moved to the spot based on information and evacuated residents from the building and sealed the area.”No one was injured. Rajuk has been informed. The officials thereof will carry out inspection of the site,” the fire service official said.”A specialist team from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) visited the building in the morning, said Abni Sankar Kar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station.”A probe committee has been formed in this regard”, the police official said. The security measures in the area have been increased, he said. He also said that additional police have been deployed in front of the building, the OC said. Earlier on April 25, Nepal experienced major earthquake of 7.8 magnitude. It was also felt in Bangladesh. The following day, a major aftershock hit Bangladesh. Experts say that the aftershocks of this earthquake may last for a year.
