Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder on Tuesday said the Directorate General of Food will be brought under online monitoring system soon.
“The Directorate General of Food will be brought under the purview of online monitoring system quickly. As a result of the introduction of online food stock and market monitoring system, transparency, accountability and good governance in food-grain collection, its transportation, distribution and storage will be ensured,” he said, reports BSS. The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled ‘Online Food Stock and Market Monitoring System’ at Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) in the city, a press release said. Director General of Food Directorate General of Food Md Shakhawat Hossain presided over the workshop.
The day-long workshop was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Food and the Directorate General of Food, Regional Controllers of Food, District and Upazila Controllers of Food.
