The weeklong annual art exhibition began on Tuesday on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.
JU Fine Arts department is organising the exhibition with the participation of the students of painting and craft section of the department.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam inaugurated the event as the chief guest at the Old Arts Building in the morning.
Addressing the inaugural session, JU VC said, “Artists uphold themselves through their works and dedication is necessary for their creative and innovative works.”
Presided over by Chairman of Fine Arts department MM Maizuddin, JU Treasurer Professor Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, Proctor Professor Tapan Kumar Saha and Noted Artist Shahid Kabir addressed the function as special guests.
The art works of 74 students and 7 teachers of the department are being exhibited at the event.
