Amnesty concerned over Chechen Salman’s security

Amnesty International (AI) Germany chapter has expressed their grave concern over the security of the Chechen 1ADAT Telegram channel moderator Salman Tepsurkaev who was abducted on 6 September 2020 in Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Region, Southern Russia.
In a letter to Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov AI’s Friedhelm Kuhl said after his abduction his whereabouts remain unknown almost a year. He was known for his criticism of the
Chechen authorities and dissemination of information on human rights violations committed in Chechnya.
Friedhelm asked the Russian authority to immediate release of Salman saying, “I urge the authorities to take swift action to establish his fate and whereabouts ensure his immediate and unconditional release, and that he has access to justice and effective remedies,” an Amnesty statement said.
