Busy with his television show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 2018 and soon to begin promotions of his next – Thugs Of Hindostan, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has a lot on his plate. Another interesting project he intends to begin work on shortly is Nagraj Manjule’s (of Sairat fame) Jhund. Manjule will be marking his debut in the Hindi film industry with the Big B in Jhund. The film is expected to go on floors in November and will reportedly wrap up in three months.
Reportedly, the Big B will be playing the role of a professor in the film, who builds a soccer team with street kids. The actor will be shooting straight for 45 days in Nagpur. The young kids will be joining him for three days rehearsals first.
On shooting the film in Nagpur, Manjule said, “I chose the city of Nagpur because the story is based there. I wanted the look and feel to be as authentic as possible and Nagpur has its own unique charm, different from Mumbai and Pune. The language of the film would be best showcased in Nagpur hence I chose the lanes of that city.”
Excited on working with Amitabh Bachchan, the filmmaker said, “Working with Mr Bachchan on a story like this is a dream come true. He has always been my favourite legend. There was nobody other than him who could fit the role perfectly and do justice to this particular character. In fact, the other people in the film are all new. Since I have been known to work with fresh talent, I think the combination of Mr Bachchan with this young team will be something to watch out for!”
