Ami Malaun Bolchhi staged on DU campus To raise voice against communal violence

Students of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies staged a protestant and processional drama on the campus of Dhaka University recently against communal violence and ethnic oppression in many localities of the country.
The performance is initiated by the talented playwright and director Shahman Moishan who has also been devised and directed the play Ami Malaun Bolchhi. A large number of audiences who are the teachers and students from various departments of university have been participated and witnessed in the phases of this performance.
Shahman Moishan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, asserted to an interview that when evil darkness grasp the time then university teachers-students should come out from the class rooms to enlighten for the welfare of human.
Shahman Moishan also said that the nature of knowledge is protestant and resistant. “Our duty is to negotiate the knowledge practices with the crises of country and world too,” he said.
He added that why we arranged such kind of performance.
The street performance of Ami Malaun Bolchhi demonstrated malaun is not slang but the identification mark of the oppressed. The performance constituted that the spirit of liberation war (Muktijuddho) is to make ensure the equilibrium of all peoples belonging multiple religions and ethnicities.
