The Amateur Rating Chess Championship began on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room in the city.
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Russel MP formally inaugurated the seven-day meet as the chief guest.
A total of 160 chess players from different districts and metropolis will compete in the meet, organized by Golden Sporting Club.
