Aman paddy production may exceed target in Narsingdi

 The overall production of T- Aman rice may exceed the fixed production target by fifteen thousand tonnes this season in Narsingdi district, official sources said.
According to the source of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) , the Department has fixed the target of production 95000 tonnes Aman rice from 38973 hectares land this season for the district. But the farmer have finally cultivated the crop over 39650 hectares land
Deputy Director, DAE, Narsingdi Shovach Chondro Gayan told The New Nation that the crop grow excellent due to the favourable climate condition and its harvesting now get momentum to yield an expected bumper production.
 Meanwhile farmers have completed harvest of the early and short duration variety T-Aman paddies like BRRI-Dhan-39, BRRI-dhan-49 and Bina-Dhan-7 this time in the district He said about 50 percent T-Aman crop have so far harvested in the district. He said if the favorable climate condition is prevailed in the coming couple of days bumper of the district would get bumper T-Aman rice production this season.
Much enthusiasm have been witnessed among the farmers in harvesting their cash crop as they are getting good yield
Talking to The New Nation, farmer Abul Kalam , Motin Miah, Haris miah , Abul Miah and Horipad Das of different upazilas said , they have been harvesting their -T_Aman paddy from November 15 and after thrashing they are getting an excellent production.
