The 1st alumni reunion of Fisheries Department of Rajshahi University (RU) was held on the campus on Thursday. RU Vice-Chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan inaugurated the programme as the chief guest at university Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium at 10:00 am.
The two-day long programme included a colourful rally, a seminar at Senate Building, alumni committee forming session, a cultural function on first day, and a picnic on the second day.
Pro VCs Prof Ananda Kumar Saha and Prof Choudhury Md Zakaria, and Dean of Agriculture Faculty Prof Saleha Jesmine spoke on the occasion as the special guests.
Former chairman of RU Fisheries Department Prof Selina Parveen and Prof NIM Abdus Salam Bhuiya addressed the function, among others, with current chairman Prof Fawzia Adib Flowra in the chair.
Former teachers, students, researchers of the department and other noted teachers and officials of the university took part in the alumni reunion.
