Allotment of khas land to women will be increased: Javed

Chittagong Bureau :State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed MP said present government is planning to increase the ratio of khas land aimed to allot to the needy and distressed women across the country. He disclosed this while addressing a function as arranged for handing over awards to the successful women in food security held at Chittagong Circuit House auditorium on Thursday evening as Chief Guest. Consumers Association of Bangladesh(CAB) and ISDE NGO jointly arranged the award distribution function for women farmers . The minister said the contribution of women in attaining self sufficiency in food and agri output is praiseworthy and the pioneering role of the women will advance the green revolution in future. Mentionable that five successful women farmers were give honourary award for their role in agri sector. These five women of chittagong division viz.Umme Kulsum, Anarkali, Fatema Begum , Rokey Begum and Shahnaz Begum. Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mezbahuddin Ahmed presided over it while the general secretary of CAB Chittaong Unit Iqbal Bahar Sabery conducted the whole program. Among others vice chancellor of Chittagong Animal Husbandry University Dr. Goutam Buddha, Agri officer of Chittagong Mojibur Rahman, former President of Bangladesh Teachers’ Association Abdul Ahad and CAB President SM Nazir Hossain participated the function as discusants, sources said.
